Last week, I built a content system with AI that’s going to save me more time than most people ever get back from a “productivity hack.”
It took upfront effort, but now I have a chain of custom GPTs that think like me, pull from my personal thought leadership, and help me produce better content in a fraction of the time because I trained them properly.
Here’s what I did:
1. I created a content writing assistant. I uploaded all of my completed and in-progress book manuscripts as a knowledge base for the GPT to pull content that has been written by me for blog posts.
2. I created an email writing assistant. It takes the blog content and turns it into a compelling email that makes people want to click to read more. I taught it about cliffhangers and strong calls to action to maximize traffic to my website when sending emails.
3. I created a subject line and preview copy assistant. I trained it on my 32/64 character formula for writing and taught it about the importance of subject lines and preview copy to improve open rates. Plus, I included a constraint around click bait and told it not to write that kind of copy.
4. I created a social copy assistant. It takes the copy from the blog and creates strong social copy that can be used on any social network.
By creating super specific custom GPTs and teaching them exactly what their role is, I was then able to chain them together to create much more efficiency in how we create content using this simple workflow.
Workflows are simple, they are essentially the steps you follow when you do something. AI can help you operationalize those steps with greater speed and efficiency when used the right way.
Yes, it requires time, effort and training to set up, but it’s always taken time to make time.
When you invest the time up front, you save a lot of time moving forward.
