Post Summary

When you create and share content you need to keep in mind what your objective is. Each piece of content should have a clear purpose and each should fit into your broader marketing strategy because , as you build your online presence, you will become a resource in the eyes of your customers, and sharing helpful content can get you there.

With that in mind, there are two main kinds of content you should be sharing to increase your sales:

Lisa Larter - Content = More Money1. Content That Drives Traffic to Your Website

You probably already know that getting more traffic to your website can help you get more business. As people visit your site and learn about who you are and what you have to offer, they are more likely to become customers. One way you can get more traffic to your site is by sharing content through social media that will encourage people to visit it.

Things like blog posts, informational pages, product pages and your homepage are all good examples of this type of content because they are all important elements of your site.

Keep in mind that the more unique, helpful, and interesting your content is, the more likely people will be to click on it when you share it on social media. If you constantly create quality content, and then share it on social media, you will see an increase in traffic to your website.

2. Content That Helps You Build Your List

Freebies are the number one way to build your list because they offer something to your visitors in exchange for their information.

Your list is a database of people who have subscribed to your website, are interested in your products or services and are considered business leads. Generally people that opt in to a list with their email address to get some form of free gift are showing that they are interested in your business so you have just captured a warm lead that asked to stay in touch with you.

Some examples of free premium content that can help you build your list include:

  • Ebooks
  • Training Programs
  • Templates
  • Videos
  • Newsletters

This content should be offered for free in exchange for a person’s email address. As you gather email addresses, you will be building a list that can help you further promote your business through drip sequence emails, newsletters, etc.

Make It Easy to Find

Making sure that your content is easy to find is important because it is is a great way to build your network and establish yourself as a thought leader, attracting people to you and your business.

Having an easy to find and simple to share landing page for your freebie like the one I created at www.LisaLarter.com/gift is the perfect way to achieve that.
