I spent a few days in Nashville this week, part business and part pleasure. I was looking for a venue and entertainment ideas for a new program I’m planning for next year.
On Monday, we dropped by Kid Rock’s bar to check out who was playing.
If you’ve never been to Kid Rock’s bar, it’s like stepping into a rock concert inside of a bar. Having visited a few places on Broadway, I was expecting the typical karaoke-style performer looking at their iPhone to keep up with the lyrics, and was I in for a surprise!
This young woman was commanding the audience. She had strong vocals and high energy. She got hundreds of people to sing along while she moved from the stage to the top of the bar to singing on the ground with the audience.
You could not pin this woman down with an iPhone. She was the definition of a professional performer who has not yet been discovered.
Her stage presence, vocals, energy, confidence, and ability to engage with the audience made her stand out in a huge way from all the other performers we saw.
Carli Loo is destined to be a star.
It’s obvious she has talent and an unwavering commitment to do what it takes to be a best-in-class performer.
What about you?
How do you stand out from your competition?
How do you demonstrate that you’re the full package? Is it in how you present yourself? How you plan for your business, engage with your audience, and show up with your marketing? Can you anticipate client needs, like Carli being able to sing any song without needing to read the words?
Do you demonstrate mad skill and confidence in what you do? Or are you safely standing behind a carefully planned script because you’re afraid to trust yourself?
Being the whole package can be done in business, just like Carli on stage, but it requires intentionality, commitment, practice, and care.
If this young woman can do it, so can you. The question is, will you?
I made this reel of my trip for you to hear her amazing voice and get a few glimpses of her performance.
