The smartest voices in AI-driven leadership are saying the quiet part out loud: 2026 will belong to the business owners who make these mindset shifts now, not later.
After an incredible week diving deep into the world of AI-driven marketing at MAICON 2025, one thing became crystal clear: The future isn’t coming. It’s already here.
For years, my team has been putting in the reps: learning, testing, breaking, rebuilding, and integrating AI into every corner of our business. And while we came home with pages of new ideas (and trust me, they’re coming), the biggest takeaway was validation. We’re doing a lot of things right.
Where others are still asking “how do we start?”, we’re optimizing, scaling, and leading.
The future of marketing doesn’t belong to those who wait for playbooks. It belongs to those who write them.
Here are five mindset shifts every entrepreneur, CEO, and creator should pay attention to right now:
1️⃣ “The future org chart isn’t humans managing humans. It’s humans managing AI teams.” — Jeremiah Owyang
→ We may not all have agents on our teams yet, but that time is coming fast. Start thinking now about what your org chart looks like when agentic capabilities become mainstream and every role has digital counterparts. Those who start mapping how AI agents will fit in before they’re ubiquitous will have the advantage.
2️⃣ “AI won’t replace your job. But a leader using AI absolutely will.” — Paul Roetzer
→ This isn’t about tools. It’s about talent that adapts faster than the org chart can keep up. The people who treat AI as a collaborator, not a shortcut, will outpace entire teams still waiting for formal processes to catch up.
3️⃣ “Be seen. Be believed. Be chosen.” — Wil Reynolds
→ Or as I say: Be Visible. Be Trusted. Be Selected. Visibility in the AI era isn’t about ranking on Google anymore. It’s about ranking in the minds of humans and the memory of machines. If AI can’t find you, reference you, or trust your content, you’re invisible, no matter how good your SEO looks.
4️⃣ “We are not just creating more content; we are multiplying the effectiveness of our team’s strategic efforts… lowering our CAC by being smarter and faster than the competition.” — Remington Begg
→ You need ten times more content that is ten times better and ten times more specific.
5️⃣ “Be radically authentic. Protect the craft.” — Rebecca Bultsma
→ Everyone’s looking for shortcuts right now with faster content, faster growth, faster wins. But authenticity is the ultimate advantage. When you protect the craft instead of chasing the hack, you build something AI can’t replicate: trust, resonance, and longevity.
The work my team and I have been doing to future-proof our business isn’t just ahead of the curve…
It is the curve.
Your next hire might not be human.
Your next breakthrough definitely won’t be accidental.
Here’s to doubling down on innovation, execution, and being bold enough to build what’s next.
