This week’s blog was written by a very close connection, colleague and friend of mine, Melonie Dodaro. Her new book, LinkedIn Unlocked comes out today and I invited her to write a guest blog post for you on how to leverage the power of LinkedIn for helping and growing your customer base. Enjoy!
She said, “I’m not chasing people for business.”
Translate that into, “I’m not prepared to follow up and take an active interest in the people who are potentially interested in working with me. My ego is so big that I expect customers will rain from the sky and I’ll never have to put any effort into selling and my life will be perfect.”
I hate to be the one to tell you, but this is not how you build a business.
One of the #1 complaints about social media is that it’s often just one big pitch-fest.
It seems that everywhere you turn someone is yelling at you, “BUY MY STUFF, BUY MY STUFF”.
It never ceases to amaze me that so many entrepreneurs today spend zero time building relationships and expect to be successful. It’s as if they think that easy access to their audience means they no longer have to woo them.
Boosted posts, ads manager, power editor; are you confused yet?! When it comes to advertising on Facebook, the options can feel endless, overwhelming and complicated.
To help you create better performing Facebook ads, I have pulled together some information on what each of the ad types are and how you can get the most out of them.
Boosted posts are posts that you have published on your Facebook Page that you want to get more visibility or engagement on.
Periscope is a new social media application that allows you to broadcast real-time video from your phone. Twitter owns this application, which makes it easy for you to connect with your followers and to tweet when you are broadcasting live.
In my book, Pilot to Profit: Navigating Modern Entrepreneurship to Build Your Business Using Online Marketing, Social Media, Content Marketing and Sales, I specifically talk about the fact that you don’t need to be everywhere when it comes to social media and I really do believe that, however, I do believe Periscope is a game-changer.
Broadcasting live from your mobile device allows people to see and connect with the unedited and unfiltered you. I like this because it’s as close to speaking to an in-person audience as you can get.
Today, I want to share with you four platforms that you can use to connect with your audience and why each will help you to build relationships and, in turn, grow your business.
Have you ever wondered if group coaching or a mastermind group is for you?
Chances are you have found yourself in a situation more than once where you wished you could bounce ideas off of other business owners, learn from those who have done what you want to, or find the inspiration to get unstuck and take massive action in your business.
Many business owners operate their business alone as if it were a silo and because of this, they move forward at a slower pace and fail to benefit from the experience of others.
When was the last time that you got out from behind your screen and joined the “land of the living”? If you’re an entrepreneur, especially a work-from-home one, you may not connect with other people as often as you like because you find yourself busy. Busy getting things done, busy trying to grow your business, busy consuming social media and busy taking care of your family.
Can you relate?
