5 Hidden Benefits of Group Coaching or Masterminding

Have you ever wondered if group coaching or a mastermind group is for you?

Chances are you have found yourself in a situation more than once where you wished you could bounce ideas off of other business owners, learn from those who have done what you want to, or find the inspiration to get unstuck and take massive action in your business.

Many business owners operate their business alone as if it were a silo and because of this, they move forward at a slower pace and fail to benefit from the experience of others.

There is no classroom equivalent to learning from those who have done what you want to do. Click To Tweet

As those who have taken part in my Profit Pods group coaching have learned, when you embrace a group of like-minded people, this is what happens:

1. You realize you are not alone in the way you think.

You’ll see that your thoughts are almost identical to other business owners. When you realize this, you become a bit more compassionate with yourself because you see that it’s not just you who struggles with feeling like you are enough. You will find others doubting themselves in exactly the same way as you and together you will confront those thoughts and overcome them together.

2. You learn what stories you are telling yourself.

Yes, stories. You tell yourself stories in your business all the time – otherwise known as excuses, rationalizations, or limiting beliefs. When you work with others, they will call you out on those stories and encourage you to take action. When you take action, the stories that held you back become stories you laugh about later on and badges of honour you share with others when they too are confronted with stories of their own.

3. Together, you figure out a solution for every problem.

You will always find creative solutions for the problems in your business and the solution will come from the person you least expect to have it. The really great part of a group is your group members become your bonus coaches. It’s not always the leader who has the best solution for every problem, but when you work with a leader who encourages collaboration, risk taking, and sharing, you can be sure that someone at the table will offer you a solution you hadn’t thought of that can help you get unstuck and solve your problem.

4. You take more action in your business because your peers hold you accountable.

People always overestimate what they can do in a short period of time. Your group will help you make commitments you can keep and you will feel accountable to show up and do the work because you won’t want to be the only person who didn’t make progress at the next group meeting. Sometimes, it can feel a bit uncomfortable, but as a business owner, you learn to get comfortable with discomfort as part of your growth strategy.

5. You get to celebrate your successes without being perceived as a bragger.

You gotta celebrate and savour your success. It can feel icky to tell your BFF that you hit your sales goal, landed that deal you’ve been working on, or finally finished writing all that copy for your website because, unless your BFF is a business owner, they just don’t get it. Your group will celebrate you and celebrate with you when good things happen in your business. You should get used to celebrating.

These groups can foster not just business relationships, but much more. It goes without saying that if you invest in building relationships with the people in your group, you can build friendships that will last a lifetime.

I don’t know about you, but I cannot put a price on some of the relationships I have in my life and I am always grateful and appreciative to the business owners who support me when I most need support.

If you’re looking for that type of support, this is your official red carpet invitation to take a closer look at Profit Pods to see if it is the right fit for you. Pods groups run twice per year, so you never have too long to wait to join the next cycle.

Now a quick question for you. If you were to join a group coaching program today, what would be the number one thing you’d hope to get from it? Please share in the comments. I can’t wait to see what comes up from this conversation!

  1. Oh, and I think you forgot magic. There is a little magic created when several great minds put their energies together. Somehow ideas are brighter and more creative when you think things out loud together and challenges seem not quite so overwhelming. Thanks, Lisa for a fantastic and inspiring week in Annapolis Royal! xoxo
