Last year, a client of mine gifted me a book that she thought would be powerful for my private coaching clients. That book was called The Awakened Woman and it was written by Dr Tererai Trent. You may recognize her name, as she was the woman that Oprah called her all-time favourite guest on the final farewell episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Two amazing things happened last summer when I was in Rhode Island.
Starbucks had gluten free breakfast sandwiches, and I came up with the idea to host a mastermind retreat in Florida at a fantastic beach house. Both of these things have come full circle with a couple powerful lessons you might be interested in around the power of asking for what you want.
The one constant in today’s world is change. Change is so rapid that as a business owner, investing in your knowledge is no longer a nice to do, it’s a necessary requirement if you want long-term success.

Reading has been a lifelong habit for me. My earliest memories of reading were in grade four when I lived next door to my Aunt Sandra. I used to raid her bookshelves and take books that were much too old for me because I had a voracious appetite for reading. I remember saving up my allowance and going to bookstores with her and buying my own books. As an adult this habit has continued except instead of reading the likes of VC Andrews, I consume knowledge that helps me be a better person, leader and business person.
